Signalling System Repairs – Can we help?
Signalling System Repairs – Can we help?..us the question we often get asked! Yes we can!
Below, is an image of a Siemens FF011 (FF Series) switching unit that monitors the inputs and outputs of a signalling system on a railway.
This is one of the 8 Siemens FF011’s we have in for repair and refurbishment right now so Siemens are keeping us busy this month and of course keeping the Greasley Electronics technical engineers happy in their work. With repairing these regularly we become experts in knowing what may be wrong with them so we can turn them around quite quickly normally.
Below is an example of a small PCB ready to be repaired and refurbished. These are sent to Greasley Electronics on a regular basis and have been for over 20 years now! We have to ensure that each board is doing the right thing. Not only railways, but we repair and refurbish for underground systems too. Our most experienced engineer, Neal knows all about these PCB Repair faults and has enjoyed the challenge over the years!
What is normally the fault?
There are lots of reasons for signalling faults as seen in this video done by Network Rail.
Aged related components are often changed but sometimes the main integrated circuits are the fault so these have to be changed too. Each one is tested on a test rig. It’s quite amazing how technical the network of trains and railways are and how many signalling problems can happen. Lucky that Greasley Electronics can save Network rail lots of money in repairs and make the circuit boards as good as new!
So, Signalling System Repairs – Can we help? YES! We love the PCB Repair challenge at Greasley Electronics!
