How is the work/life balance for an MD?
John Rawlings talks about work/life balance today and here is the outcome of how he has this right!
“Circuit Board Repair is my passion. Golf is my passion. Can I do both successfully? I think so. With the team I have behind me, yes.
Some people might say I have determination. 😉
Some people might say I have too many days away from the workshop playing golf! 😬
Why can I do this?
I have a great team behind me and not only am I on the golf course doing something I love but I am establishing relationships in business. (Most of the time!)
I started off my career in electronics when the Sinclair Spectrum came out back in the day and I was interested in electronics! At the age of 16 and after gaining one year’s training in computing I began work at Greasley Electronics in 1984. After completing my degree in Electronic Engineering I took over the company in 2007.
I head up the sales and marketing side growing his customer base and ensuring the team and I team deliver a fantastic customer service.
So, How is the work/life balance for an MD?!
Work/Life balance is always a challenge and sometimes always will be but we can all get there employing the right people and completing the right training. Atmospehere at work is really important too. Create the right atmosphere and you are 3/4 there.
I played golf twice this week, and again today winning two trophies so I must be doing something right. Greasley Electronics is going from strength to strength. I focus my time on retaining good relationships with key clients and asking for the business when I see fit. I seek out what else I can do for a company when we have completed a pcb repair.
My network has grown so much since joining “FORE” Business over four years ago.
I am grateful to Richard Hughes, my golf coach and Dennis Roebuck for keeping my diet and fitness focused.
The Greasley Electronics Ltd team holds the fort when I am away from the office and Stuart, the Workshop Manager is being taught everything I know!
Determination and focus pays off with work and play!”
