Vibration Drive Controllers
This week has seen the workshop manager Stuart Hockenhull repair 18 drive controllers!
All of them were from snack food manufacturers all over the UK.
These are circuit boards on metal plates, with a case on. They are fitted into an isolated box and wired up to the designated conveyor to do it’s job! Once repaired and refurbished we test them all on a test rig, also knows as soak testing.
How do they work?
These vibration drive controllers work by pulsating electromagnetically. In turn, the drive vibrates a conveyor tray using springs, transferring the products along another conveyor tray. The vibratory drives can be used for various functions, including heating, cooling, weighing and packing, to robotic pick and place systems, vacuum extraction, to name but a few.
Vibration controllers are needed in many industries. It does what it says on the tin….vibrates!
The reason they vibrate is to move the products without damage and when they have electronic faults Greasleys can step in and repair them.
Providing they are maintained going forward, they should last for a further 5 to 8 years.
A common problem is either people have tampered with the settings attempting to fix it themselves or age-related components breaking down.
We have a very high success rate of our repair work. The likelihood of failures is very low. However we do make you aware of this within the quotation.
